Celebration Singers of Asheville


SPRING CONCERT  -- final concert of the year THE SOARING HEART featuring standard honor choir repertoire, Disney songs, classical Vivaldi and Bartok, folk songs, and gospel.  Soloists.  Joining us on upright bass, Dr. Vance Reese.

Now in our  7th year, Celebration Singers of Asheville is an auditioned community chorus for young singers ages 7-14 who are talented and committed to excellence.  Founded by Artistic Director Ginger Haselden in 2007 as a 501(c)3 non-profit educational charity and officially endorsed by the Asheville Lyric Opera Vocal Arts Program, Celebration Singers of Asheville presents two concerts a year and sings by invitation with the Asheville Lyric Opera, Asheville Choral Society, Transylvania Choral Society, choir festivals, senior citizen communities and  local/statewide civic events.  In April 2012 we performed in Carnegie Hall and in April 2013 we performed with The Modern American Music Project in the opera  DEAD MAN WALKING.   In March 2014,  9 members participated in an auditioned national choir sponsored by American Organization of Kodaly Educators in Atlanta, GA.

Celebration Singers of Asheville strives to ignite a lifelong love of singing by nurturing the full expression of each individual's potential for artistic and personal excellence by emphasizing healthy vocal technique, expressive singing and music literacy, while simultaneously engendering growth of discipline, responsibility, teamwork, self-confidence and self-esteem.

Join Us  -  Auditions--next auditions will be Sept. 4, 2014, 5:30 p.m.    First Congregational United Church of Christ, 20 Oak St., downtown Asheville.  Prepare a song and bring sheet music.  Tuition for year $100--includes printed music.  Scholarships available. We are all about music education and performance fun!
